There have been attempts to make chickens a big threat and it can be pulled off well providing an unexpected challenge. This game is all about chickens being a dangerous force and it still works with the comical and stylized presentation. There’s not much to worry about in terms of mechanics which allows you to focus on what you’re seeing and doing. The chicken forces tend to spread out evenly to give you a better chance, but it’s up to you to actually come up with a winning strategy to defeat the waves. Who’s the real chicken?

How to Play

Merge Cannon: Chicken Defense is a 2D tower-defense game about fighting back an army of chickens using cannons and the mouse. You use the cursor to navigate the UI and the Left Mouse Button to click and interact with elements. To move a cannon, click, hold, and then drag it to where you want it. The goal is to push back waves of chickens which will get larger and stronger as time passes.

Your main defense is a grey castle wall that you need to protect at all costs. To fight back, you’ll have access to cannons. The cannons work interestingly in that to unlock new cannon models, you need to merge similar models. A cannon’s level is clearly indicated by a blue banner. Drag a cannon onto another cannon of the same level to turn it into a new cannon of one level higher. You can do this as long as you have cannons that share the same levels. Cannons on the field will be your reserves, while cannons along the wall will actively attack chickens once they’re in range.

At the bottom of the screen, you can track the castle wall health, your money, available cannons, cannon drops, and the store. When the cannon drop crate meter fills up, a crate will appear in your reserve field containing a cannon. You can also buy additional cannons as long as you have space in your reserve. If the castle wall gets too damaged, you can spend gold earned from slaying chickens to repair and strengthen it. Cannons cannot be combined with others that aren’t their level so if you want to remove one, drag it to the trashcan in the bottom right corner.

Tips and Tricks

This is a defense game where you need to be active and constantly making changes. Always ensure that your castle wall slots are filled as you can combine cannons at any time. If you fail, simply retry as the current wave will preserve your current setup and assets at the time of defeat.
