There are times when you can head out to paint the town red and that can be taken quite literally when playing a game like Paper IO 2. The sequel to the popular online game returns you to a town that is a large blank canvas that is screaming out for a splash of color. You can choose to be the red cube that paints it red or you can be some other cube painting it a different color or perhaps a wild pattern. How to Play

Paper IO 2 is a 3D isometric competitive game about using a cube to paint with either the mouse or keyboard. The WASD/Arrow Keys can be used to steer the cube in the designated direction since the cube will move at a constant pace on its own. Unlike similar games, there is no “Dash” ability. By using the mouse cursor, you can lead the cube around as it will follow the position of the cursor. The goal of the game is to paint the majority of the canvas and stay at the top rank.

Before beginning, you can choose a name for your cube and a style. It can have a single color or you can give a different form which will cause it to paint a related pattern. When the game starts, your cube will spawn in an empty space with a portion already painted. It will start moving and in order to paint, you need to lead the cube to create a trail and then close it by returning to the solid painted portion. You can safely paint over different-colored areas but if another cube comes into contact with your trail or if you run over it yourself, your cube will be destroyed and you’ll need to start again. However, you can also eliminate other cubes by running over their trails.

Tips and Tricks

A lot of your strategy can be based on where you spawn on the canvas. If you spawn in the middle of other painted areas, you’ll need to start small and gradually paint outwards in a spreading pattern. If you spawn away from the center, take advantage of all the untouched canvas before going after other cubes.
