Best Overwatch 2 Supports in 2025

Support heroes keep your team alive in Overwatch 2. They heal teammates, give helpful buffs, and can change who wins a fight. The game added a Perk system in February 2025 and a new hero named Wuyang in August. These changes have made some supports better and others worse. This guide shows you the best support heroes to play right now.

Did you ever want to play with your friends but couldn’t because they’re all higher ranked than you?

What the Tiers Mean

Before we look at heroes, here’s what each tier means:

S-Tier heroes are the strongest right now. They win more games and work well on almost every map and with any team.

A-Tier heroes are still very strong and you can rank up with them easily if you’re good at these characters

B-Tier heroes only work well in certain situations. They need the right map or the right team to be effective.

C-Tier and lower heroes struggle right now. Avoid them in ranked games unless you’re really good with them.

Here’s how all support heroes rank in October 2025:

SAna, Kiriko
ABaptiste, Brigitte, Juno
BLucio, Zenyatta
CMoira, Illari
DLifeweaver, Mercy

S-Tier: The Strongest Picks

Ana

S-Tier: The Strongest Picks

Ana is the best support in Overwatch 2 right now. She can heal from far away, deal good damage, and stop enemies with her abilities. Her Sleep Dart puts enemies to sleep, which stops their attacks and makes them easy to kill. Her Biotic Grenade heals your team and also stops enemies from getting healed for a few seconds.

Since Overwatch 2 only has one tank per team now, Ana is even better. She can easily make the enemy tank useless with her abilities. Her ultimate, Nano Boost, makes one teammate stronger and harder to kill. This works great with many other hero ultimates.

Kiriko

Kiriko

Kiriko is one of the most played and strongest supports since she was added to the game. Her Protection Suzu ability saves teammates by blocking all damage for a moment and removing bad effects. One of her most useful skills is that she can teleport to teammates and climb walls. This makes her very hard to kill.

Her ultimate, Kitsune Rush, makes the whole team move faster, attack faster, and reload faster. This can help your team win fights easily.

A-Tier: Very Good Choices

Baptiste

A-Tier: Very Good Choices

Baptiste keeps groups of teammates alive with his healing grenades. He also shoots enemies with the same weapon. His best ability is Immortality Field, which stops teammates from dying for a few seconds. Use this at the right time and you can save your team from enemy ultimates.

His ultimate, Amplification Matrix, creates a wall that makes all damage and healing stronger when shots go through it. This helps during big team fights.

Brigitte

Brigitte

Brigitte has become very strong in high-level games. She can heal her teammates constantly as long as she keeps whacking enemies with her flail. This means she can be aggressive and heal at the same time.

She’s really good at keeping other supports safe from enemy attackers. Her Rally ultimate gives everyone on the team extra armor, making them harder to kill.

Juno

Juno

Juno is the newest support hero. She came from Mars and has good healing with her Mediblaster. Her Pulsar Torpedos chase low-health enemies and damage them. She can move around really well, which makes her hard to catch.

B-Tier: Good in Some Games

Lucio

B-Tier: Good in Some Games

Lucio makes the team move faster, which helps during fights and when moving around the map. His ultimate, Sound Barrier, gives everyone temporary shields that can block enemy ultimates. He works best on maps where he can knock enemies off the edge.

The problem is that his healing is weaker than most other supports.

Zenyatta

Zenyatta

Zenyatta plays more like a damage dealer who can also heal. His Discord Orb marks enemies and makes them take extra damage, while his Harmony Orb slowly heals one teammate. His ultimate, Transcendence, gives massive healing to everyone nearby and keeps them alive through most attacks.

However, Zenyatta has major weaknesses. He moves very slowly and has no way to escape when enemies attack him. This makes him an easy target and limits when you can safely pick him.

Heroes to Skip

These heroes don’t fit in the current meta:

  • Moira can heal and damage, but she doesn’t have any special abilities that change fights. Other supports do more.
  • Illari got made weaker by game updates and doesn’t offer enough compared to better choices.
  • Lifeweaver has many abilities but none of them are very strong. He only heals with his weapon, which makes him unreliable.
  • Mercy doesn’t fit well in the current game. Other supports give your team more help.

Picking Your Support

Tier lists help you know which heroes are strong, but other things matter too. Think about your team setup, the map you’re playing, and which heroes you’re good at. The best support players switch heroes to work with their team and counter enemies.

Try to get good at two or three different supports. This makes you more helpful to your team and helps you win more ranked games in 2025.
